The council does not offer legal advice directly to residents or local businesses.
However, there are a number of local and national organisations that do provide this service, including Citizens Advice Bureaux, a link to which is provided below.
Herts County Council also provide a 'legal telephone helpline' -
which provides advice on money problems including debt and welfare
benefits. It also provides advice on education and employment matters.
If you would like advice call them on tel: 0845 120 2994 or 0845 120 2995 - calls are charged at local rates, and are open during office hours.
Everyone
who rings will receive initial advice and people who are eligible for
legal help will qualify for ongoing advice and assistance. You can also
listen to a range of recorded advice messages on the most common
problems.
